Default 149 Walbro Carb rebuild
I'm currently trying to find a rebuild kit for my Walbro WHG Carburetor and am having quite the time trying to locate one. I know that this isn't the best carburetor and hopefully someday I can upgrade but for now money is tight and I have to work with what I have. Does anyone have any idea where I might be able to find this animal. the stamped numbers are 47 053 97 on one side of the flange and on the other is 80 1972. Thank you for the help!

Have you tried our fine sponsors. Even if you do not see what you want it may be worth a phone call or email to them as they have much more than what they have on their sites and their prices are good too.

I agree with Paul. Give the sponsors a try. They may even have the Carter carb to replace that Walbro. BTDT.

My local kohler small engine place carries the kits in stock. But they are about 3 times the cost of the carter kit.

Well, while searching on the internet looking for a rebuild kit I came across this site http://outdoorpowerinfo.com/repairs/...table_carb.asp which might help some people better understand how the carburetor works. Hope this might help out some people.

I am putting the Walbro carb back together and it calls for Loctite 609 to use for the retaining screws for the throttle plate to the throttle shaft. I'm having a doosy of a time trying to find this locally, I'd prefer not to order online for this and was wondering if anyone knew who might carry it or an equivalent.

I would think any of your local auto part stores carry small tubes of loctite. Get a small tube of 271 high strength red loctite and you will be good to go. Suck a screw up in the combustion chamber and it creates all kinds of damage. Red might be a little overkill but you will be guaranteed the screws wont back out.

I certainly don't want to suck a screw in the combustion chamber, that's why I figured I'd go with what the manual calls for, seems as though no auto parts stores carry the loctite 609, the 271 works then I'm in business! Thanks for the reply.
