Default Seat Question

Can anyone give me their opinions on where to get the best seats for the best price?

I bought a seat last year and looked first at the on-line places. I thought they were too expensive, once shipping costs were added in.

I did find a decent price on a seat from Messick's in Elizabethtown, PA. Shipping costs became a problem with that seat. I ended up buying a seat for my Cub Cadet 1250 Nightmare at my local Cub Cadet dealer, Titan Machinery.

Replacement seats are getting more expensive, yet the standard replacement seat is very nice. It has a black pan, rather than 935 white. When I mounted the seat, I used anti-sieze grease on the bolts because they are subject to holding moisture.

I've never seen one of these but some people say they are nice and close to the original for the 82 series. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...9222_200519222

I got one of these. http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.as...atname=engines It's nice and heavy but it needs drilled to fit and it's made in China.

After i got this on i used only this for a while then i got on my 129 with a standard seat and i thought WOW this sucks.lol

I was in tractor supply tonight and in the lawn mower parts section they had some ok looking seats if you're not pickey about orig. I think they were $49.00 and $59.00 for the high back. Check them out before you buy elsewhere. Might save you a buck or two!

Thanks Grampie, That's more along the lines of what I was thinking.

Wouldn't spent $1200.00 for a seat in my living room much less on a tractor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
