Hello everyone, I am new here and to Cub Cadets. I recently sold a JD 318 to buy a 2182 with 83 hrs on it. I beleive these hrs are correct as the condition of the tractor is great condition. The tractor has a Haban 60 deck that is to big for my yard. I recently found a 46 deck off a 1864 with all the mounting hardware in good shape.
My question is, Will this deck work without any major problems and Any problems or concerns with this model tractor I should worry about. If anyone is interested the Haban will also be for sale once I find a deck that will work. Thanks for any input into my questions.

looks like the 321 46" deck is for both models but you should check the serial # on your 2182.
this is a good site to check compatibility for attachments. http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=c...21+46%22+Mower congrats on the nice Super!

Welcome to OCC. Great Find, 2182's are really nice. You can see what mower decks will work by looking up your 2182 on parts tree according to the serial number and checking the available attachments and then checking the attachments to see what other models they fit.
The 46" deck off a 1864 (#321) looks like it will work with 2182's with serial numbers in this range 821,060 - 880,000 What part of Pa are you from? |

If I remember right the smallest deck they offered is the 46" which required a "subframe adapter" according to my sales literature I got with my 1782 (which has a 48" deck). I dont think Anything smaller will cut the width of the tractor.

I find it a bit hard to believe that your tractor only had 83 hours on it. Assuming that your 2182 is a 1995 tractor, the last year they were built according to the info I have it’s 18 years old so that works out to 4.6 hours per year. I’d wonder if the clock has been replaced or if it was unplugged. How about posting some pics?
As far as replacing the Haban not sure I would bother, the Haban is probably the best deck they ever made. If it is one of the newer style it will have the wheels that pivot so it’s not hard to get it out from under the tractor. Plus with the big deck you will find it easier to cut close to obstructions. That said it’s your tractor. Anyway congrats on Super. I love my 2182.

Thanks guys for the input, if I can figure out how i will post pics. Any other concerns I should have about this model. I thought the same thing about the hours but the guy had this and a 1863 I believe which had a ton of hours on it which he said he used all the time. But anyway it is a very clean tractor. And I am near the Greensburg, PA area.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
