Default V61's

Which model tractors had the wide rims that can fit my 104 the V61 tires? I have read that it was an option on which size tires to get on some of the models, but I was not sure if they were on narrow frames and/or if wide frame wheels will fit. I am going to put in a "wanted" ad as soon as I am educated on the subject.

16x6.50-8 is the size you need, just got some for my 1810, same size but 1 inch spindle.

You need the 5 3/8" wide wheels from a narrow frame. Wide frame wheels have a different offset due to the design of the spindles.

I had the hubs on a set of wheels from a 2000 series tractor cut down to fit on my 71. Cut 1/4" off one side and 3/4" from the other side.

Did the 2000 Series have 3/4" axles, or is there 1" axles on the NF, or something else??

These came from a 2160 and it had 3/4" axles. Had the shop chuck them in a lathe and cut them for the 3" long axles on the 71. The 2160 has 4" long axles.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
