149 pto brake question
The 149 i have has the brake on it but it is metal where it engages the PTO. I would assume that there should be some kind of material on the brake and not just metal ??
If so , has anyone ever replaced this and what did you use ??? Thanks , Darrell

Blade Brake
Get some friction material 1/8" thick and cut out a 3" disc. Then cut out a 2" center hole (leaving a 1/2" width circle of friction material. Clean the old brake shoe surface to bare metal and using some Liquid Nails adhere the friction disc to the circular brake shoe. Let set up/dry according to the Liquid Nails instructions. Clutch repair shops are often good sources of flat friction material.
IH intended you to just buy and replace a relatively inexpensive brake shoe thus never listed any parts for repair. But IH isn't here any more. Replacement brake shoes may be available from one or more of the above Forum sponsors. You'll have to ask 'em.

Thanks for the info Myron. I figured there should be something there.
Not sure about a clutch shop around here , but i will have to start looking for something. I will check at Mcmaster Carr and see what they have.
