Lift handle

I was thinking today that winter was over and I could take the 149 with snowblower out of the garage and take it to the barn for the summer. after starting it I tried to lift the snowblower, and the lift handle spun around almost in a circle. I looked under the tower and couldn't see much because of limited space but did see where the shaft connected to the lift handle was spinning around where it hooks to the lift valve. My question is this. does the shaft hook to the valve with a roll pin, or something else, I could see a hole, and moving the lift handle could see where something had broken off. Will this require taking off the dash or whole tower to repair. I couldn't see in the manual where anything was explained about removing the lift handle. Thanks

The shaft is connected to a linkage with a roll pin. The roll pin probably broke or worked it's way out. It's a pain to get to.

sometimes on those where the roll pin goes thru the handle breaks and yes working under the dash is a pain

worked on the lift handle today. The roll pin or whatever was in it's place had fallen out or broke or something. I took the gas tank off and that allowed me enough room to put a cotter pin through the handle shaft and whatever it is that the end of it goes into, and everything worked as it should.

Don't expect that cotter pin to last very long!!
