Im not sure if this is the right place for this and if its not i am sorry but it is a Lo Boy so i figured im in the clear. Im not sure of the year of this machine but as you can see its fit for rolling. I was curious if this is something you could order from the factory as i have never seen another like it. Any info you guys could share on this machine would be great!

No, those wheels were made for it. It was not a factory option. Very interesting though! That Cub has a one point hitch, which is an option you don't see everyday. Not necessarily rare, just average. It also has the pulleys on the rear for a woods belly mower, so at some point it had tires on it.

Now that is interesting! A LoBoy for sure as you can see the rear finals are rotated. It looks recently painted so grill paint is likely unreliable, but assuming that no parts have been changed there are a few ways to narrow the year down. The 11 bar grill was used ’55 to ’58 and would have been red in ’55 only, white after that, but the hood would not have the two “oil” holes until late ’55 or early ’56 (and this one has them). The front tie rods attach to the steering gear arm are both on the bottom, like an “F-Cub”, on the early ones, not sure when thy changed them to opposing (one top, one bottom), but after not too long I believe. SO, my guess is a late’’55 or ’56. A Serial number would pin-point the year, it looks like it has one but painted over.
Nice looking LoBoy, with a fast hitch! I will be interested to hear more about it. Good luck, David |

David - Thanks for the reply and the info. The tractor belonged to an old guy who loved it more than life itself. He sold it to a friend of mine who promised him that he would never sell it to anyone else which still holds true today. The tractor has been repainted but it was a loooong time ago. The tractor only sees the light of day for a few weeks a year (spring time) for lawn rolling his lawn and the horses pasture field. The rest of the time its stored in a shed with a concrete floor. Ever since i saw this tractor i loved it but i had mistaken it for a farmall cub. I never seen anything like this so i figured i would post up here and see if this is one of a kind or there are others. I dont know much else about the tractor but feel free to enlighten me

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
