Default New to forum, Looks like I'm going to get a GTX 2100

hello all. please excuse any misspellings as I only have use of one arm after bicep reconstruction surgery. I just bought a house with an acre of land and was leaning to the JD170 or the gtx 1054. after talking to the dealer they said the gtx 2100 was probably overkill but the features of the tractor would make it last longer than the gtx 1054. I want to get a triple bagger and the deck the dealer has in stock for the gtx2100 is 50". the land is level and not too much in the way of landscaping as of yet. I may in the future want a snow blower and want to get right away a sleeve hitch to pull a large trailer in the backyard instead of my p/u truck to move it around...any thoughts from anyone if the 2100 is the wrong tractor..thanks....btw..great forum...I hope to participate asap...

i dont think he got the tractor yet. go with the 2100. a 50'' deck isnt that big for an acre. (i mow a half acre with a 48"). plus having the extra power is always nice for long grass or a snow blower.

I know, but I think he will get it very soon. I have looked at similar models and I think they are great tractors. The cast iron rears are a great feature. A 50" deck would be OK, on a acre for me as well.

Get it you'll love it. I've had mine for about a month and love it. Only thing i would suggest is spend the extra and get the fabricated deck. I have the 48" fab deck and mow an acre, takes about 50 mins.

thanks for all the input...I have not bought it yet. my local dealers are unwilling to try to get a unit for me as they put their stocking orders in the early spring and they seemed very unresponsive to my request to get a tractor on a fill in order. I called a dealer in CT and has them in stock and eager to earn my business. I will call him on how much extra the fab deck is in a 54" and see if its in the budget.

heres a question.....has anyone been successful with getting the dealer to waive or eat the $125 "promotional fee" when using the cub financing??
im going to do the 3 year 0% plan

Their not gonna wave the fee but you can get them to drop the price enough to cover it. My dealer also got mine financed for 0% for 48! The fab deck is a few bucks more but worth every penny. My local dealer has about 10 of them with what ever deck u want!

You don't need a sleeve hitch to pull a trailer. That is to use implements such as a plow, grader blade, box blade, cultivator ect.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
