Great site and a lot of interesting content. I have a CC 149 for many years and I recently bought a 1030- an oddball rear engine for cutting grass at a vacation property. I trucked the 149 back and forth many years but the 1030 will fit through the basement door at the vacation property and it cuts grass nicely.
The 149 is a working beast I use to cut grass and scare the neighbors. Attached picture of the 149 is the only one I have- and it is not too great of a shot of the tractor but the tractor is basically unmodified aside from the battery and the hitch. Pintle hitch allows me to move my branch chipper in and out of the garage- it is a bit heavy on the tongue so I have to sit on the hood while driving to keep the front wheels on the ground. ![]() On a separate note, am wondering if someone can let me know if this snowblower will fit my 149? I am not able to find much on a CC-42 blower. I thought I read that a QA42 would fit, but am not sure about this one. Awesome site and any information is appreciated- SD |

Thanks for the welcome everyone- and thank you Wild Bill for the concise info on the differences between the wide and narrow models. I had poked around enough to know there was a difference between the wide and narrows but now I know what and why--
If experience is any guide, finding a decent QA42A will take at least until mid July! Cheers- SD |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
