Thumbs up Merry Christmas to me!

Well I drug home a 126 just before Christmas.

It's got 10.50 Super Lugs that are almost new but on narrow wheels. Runs pretty good, but it's been wet and cold and I've been so busy with family I haven't had time to check it out much. I'm giving the deck to my FIL for his birthday for his 124.

It's been repainted and came with a no name blade that doesn't fit right. I think I'll cut that blade down and use it to build a belly blade someday. This is the first of 8 Cubs I've dragged home that has a battery clamp. BONUS!
Of course the teaser spring is broke, but the rest of the clutch looks good. Has a replacement wiring harness on it too. Bad thing for sure is it has a Walbro carb on it. When the PO put that on they hooked the throttle cable directly to the butterfly on the carb bypassing using the governer. Had me worried the governer was broke, but I hooked up the choke cable correctly and the throttle correctly and it all works so far. I had to do that just so I could get it in my backyard and under a tarp before some bad weather hit.

I can't wait for some better weather and some more time so I can really check him out. Kind of neat to get a brother for my 127 to play with.

This one makes up for the 124 I drug home out of Arkansas in February for sure. It was/is a pile but I fixed it up for my FIL. I conned him into buying it so I could get the stuff that went with it. I spent as much fixing it for him as he spent on it, maybe more even. Oh well, I finally got him into a real garden tractor instead of his crapsman stuff. I'm trying to get him to buy a 123 near him but he doesn't believe the hydros are as strong as a gear drive. The owner is an old buddy of mine so I'm gonna try and get it cheaper... (don't tell my wife). Funny thing is, years ago my friends dad bought a John Deere H from my FIL and now he's trying to buy and IH off of him. Go figure.
I just want the 38" deck on it to use in my yard. 48" deck is too big, my 44" deck on my 1450 is almost too big. Takes me 10 min or so to mow my back yard.

Looks good!
If it's as dependable as my 126 is, you're going to love it! They are nice little machines!

Nice looking 126 you got there. Looks a bit like mine, but probably a bit better shape. What a good way to end the year!

Nice find, Keith. I have a 107 in pieces that I need to get together, so I have sort of one of that series. But I have two 123s, two 104s, and a 125.....Gotta love the narrow frames.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
