You can only insult the guy once with a lowball offer, then he can reiterate.

I never EVER put a price on someone else's goods!
Find out what he is asking and then try to talk him down without, insulting him. If he is reasonable you should be able to get him down 20% I personally wouldn't pay much more than $350.00 for it. FWIW, the 3 point hitch could bring $250.00 on ebay.

After buying so many cubs, once in a while I get some owner's and they ask me how much I want to offer, so I give them the lowest price I think it is worth.Seems lately that has been the way I bought some cubs.

The question is what would you pay for it? And how bad do you want an "O"?

Welcome to OCC.
I'd be thinking $250 to $350 range is a fair price only because of the included 3 pt. but location and condition as well as how much you want it are key. No oil air bath, or optional creeper, fenders or lights. The air bath will run you around $75 (+/-). Be advised you could go with a newer air filter set up cheaper. It likely needs new seals and bushings which if I remember correctly ran me around $200 for mine. Let us know what you decide. If you opt not to get it then list it here for someone else from OCC to consider.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
