Can anyone take a stab at what model this snowblower might be?:
Useable/adaptable for a 1650?

Sorry nope, this is the only pic.
Am scheduled to pick it up tomorrow... will have more pics then. From what I could tell (and hope) it was a QA42 - am wanting to prepare for winter. Was told it worked great when parked 5 years ago.... |

It is a QA 42.
QA42A has a pin sticking out where the holes for the mount are so it can fit on a wide frame. You can adapt it if you are good at welding.

It is a qa42. Not an 'A'.
And the condition is what my humble opinion would be categorized as 'rusted junk'. But. I dragged it home anyway. Will see if I can get the bolts to break free... Or just plain break might be ok. And wire brush it a bit. And see ..... I have been known to beat a dead horse on more than one occasion. ![]() Of course it will need to be adapted to the wide frame but that should be manageable. And I have an extra deck lift that I will never use that might get cutup for the purpose. Which brings me to the next question: When a deck is sold, is it expected for the lift mount to come with it? |

Those are an auctioneers favorite words... "It worked the last time we used it." I'm sure it's fine, it just made me laugh when I thought about it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
