Most parts stores can get them overnight if they don't have them in stock. My local NAPA carries them.

The last one i bought was made in China and the glass bowl was to small to work well. It looked like they made the bowl small to fit other sizes.

I just put a new shut off valve in the tank , a brass fitting in the carb and a rubber hose/filter. I also turn the tank around so the fitting isn't setting above the coil , in case it decides to start leaking. I guess you could do that with a sediment bowl , but never tried it.

Not sure if all the sediment bowls are made like the one i bought , just giving you a heads up.

I'm NOT a purists in that my cub MUST stay original, so;

I eliminated my bowl & my gas runs through a regular gas filter made for small engines.

No more issues with those glass bowls, just change my filters every spring. About. $ 3.50 each.

NIK,

NIK,
That is my recommendation. Get the in-tank screen shutoff, an inline filter, some fuel line, a few clamps, you are in business!!

For what it's worth, the nice thing about a sediment bowl is it gives water a chance to settle out BEFORE it gets to the carb bowl. It's really the only benefit of using one nowadays. Fuel filters have come a long way since then.

Doesn't the ethanol absorb the water?

I haven't seen water in the bottom of a gas can in years!!

At least the water can no longer rust the bottom of a steel gas tank!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
