Default Blade - Narrow frame to wide frame

Got a call yesterday from someone I just bought some wheels from who said he has a snow blade that will fit my 782 except that it's set up for a narrow frame. He suggested that I bring it to a welder who could adapt it to fit. I'd rather not have to adapt anything and some searching here leads me to believe that I can look for a sub frame that would fit my WF 782 and then hook the blade up to that with no further modifications. Does that sound right? If so, any thoughts on how hard it will be to find the right sub frame or should i just start melting metal to make it all work?

As stated above, find a WF subframe. I had to do the same thing this past Spring. My blade was originally used on my 100. Now I use it on my 782. You'll also need the correct lift rod and bracket.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
