I just rebuilt a JD 332 with the three cyl diesel in it and I went with a K&N filter with a little adaptation. It is washable and should last many years. If you have the measurements of the old filter you can go to the K&N web site and find one that is really close and use it. The one I bought for $35 is washable and the one that JD sells is $35 and has to be thrown out every season. Measure the hole in the one you have and the outside diameter and then you can make it work for you.

I also use Wix in both diesels and my vehicles. They have a very high rating for particulate removal.

I go to my local Kubota dealer for all my 1572 engine parts, including filters. My Cub dealer gave me that advice! Use partstree to get the part numbers. Any Cub part number that starts with KB is an actual Kubota part number.

My local NAPA auto parts store carries or can get most filters for my 1572.

I use the factory filters as well. They do not cost that much more. I buy them by the case of off ebay.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
