Default Picked up a couple of cubs and worked on my 1450

Picked up a 1250 yesterday:

New tires, muffler, all the tin including the muffler tins, new seat, new fluids, plug, card rebuilt.. Rungs good.

He made up a receiver on the back to use standard trailer balls.

Some more pictures:

He even put what I believe to be chevy valve springs to help support the seat.:

But the nice thing about going to get this one is that it led to 109 given to me by a friend who lived close to the guy I bought the 1250. Been sitting in the weeds for 20 years, motor gone, but still has good parts especially the 3 point hitch.

Repaired the trunnion on my 1450 today, installed the fan, cleaned it up in the back shot a coat of paint and put it back together. Now I will tackle cleaning up the front half

I forgot..

The guy was asking less than what he had in new parts on it. He started with it to make a puller out of it and lost interest. Been sitting in his shed for 2 years.

You've been busy. Nice score. I am liking those tires.
That valve spring idea just gave me an idea, I like that. I do tend to max out the support of the cub seats.

Is that price a misprint?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
