So my plan today was to take the sprayer off the 1450 and put on my tiller. Went to start it up and the battery was dead. Charged it a lil and then boosted it. Wouldn't crank wortha darn. Let it charge more and tried again. It started and ran for about 3 seconds. It then proceeded to miss and run extremely rough until it died. I called a friend and he suggested a fuel problem. Checked out what little I know. Had fuel in the tank and fuel to the carb. I was suspicious about the coil because a buddy of mine had borrowed the coil 3 weeks ago to test one of his machines out. I called Sam and he directed me to the technical section where I found a wiring diagram on how that stuff is supposed to look. So.... ya, after about an hour of my time, i found that when he re-installed the coil, the condenser got hooked to the positive side. Switched the wire round and it runs great. This was a milestone for myself as I know very very little about engines. Thanks to OCC for existing! With out occ I would not have met people that have a wealth of knowledge and can guide one to the correct information!

It does make a difference if the engine is properly wired.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
