I believe that is called a 4 bar linkage.

I love that thing! I can think of a lot of stuff I would use it for.... other than dumping a trailer! It would be really nice for "jocky-ing" trailers around at the shop, or moving other equipment in and out. Like the manure spreader that got dropped off this week with a broken web chain If I ever get a cat 0.........
