I have a cub cadet 123 that has a trans leak
I assume it is from the cork gasket what else should I replace as I am going through the trans to help stop some leaks ? I have put new orings on the relief valves already and new filter and fluid just want to stop the drips thanks |

There are four shaft seals - Input shaft, output shaft, LH Control Arm shaft, and RH Control Arm shaft.

my trans leak was traced back to a cracked suction tube where it went into bottom of the rear end housing. see if you can track down the area on the rear end where it seems the most damp. you may have to split the tractor, but better to find the culprit than guess and check over and over.

The guys are correct!
If you are gonna spend the time and effort to tear it down, then replace all the seals and check all the plumbing. If you do it right you should be good for years to come. Keep in mind that the stems on the release valves have "O" rings on them as well and they do go bad. It is quite a project to repair them, most folks either get rebuilt ones or just let them leak. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think rebuilt ones are about $70.00 each. If yours are leaking and you have or are building a "no problems" machine, they are worth the investment.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
