Kohler KT17 series II filter adabtable?
i sold my Dad the 782 i used to have, and he was wondering if the KT 17 series II engine would be able to have an oil filter adapted to it? i have an extra oil filter block, hoses and spin on filter that came off of a magnum 20 i had and was wondering if they would fit on the KT 17 without modification...

The KT 17 and the Mag 18 are the same engine. One just has electronic ignition. If your series II has the plate on the front right side, it will work no problem. I believe some of the early series II' s didn't have the plate.

Not all KT-17's had the Oil Filter provision. IF...the block had a "block off plate" then yes,
