Default QA-42A on my Super 1772

welded a new 40/24 sprocket on the auger. new bearings.
I had to make a new lift rod, because the round rod would bend when it lifted the thrower. the way it's mounted it pushed to lift it, and would bend. so I made a new bar from 1 1/2'' x 1/2'' bar. had to bend it a little so it would line up to the mounts on each end of the bar. video is uploading now. I host it when its done. here are some pics.

to center the sprocket I used the heads of a hand full of 5/16 bolts. got lucky that this worked

Nice job on the snow thrower. I'm trying to hurry up and get mine done. It won't be long before it's snowing. The parts 450 blower I bought must have been on a super because it came with the longer lift arms.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
