PTO switch problem
Hello, I'm having an issue on an 1872 I just bought... The pto switch was working fine, but now won't stay engaged. It will work if you hold the switch up, but when it goes into its detent it turns off...could the switch be bad or is there another source to this issue? I noticed the wire pigtail going to that relay looking thing on the left side is kind of melted but not too bad. Wonder if that would do it? Thanks in advanced

Shaner I just had the same issue this fall with my PTO on my 1711. What I found was the connections under in the pigtail and the spades on the back of the switch had a good amount of rust on them. I cleaned the spade terminals with some sand paper and cleaned the pigtail the best I could and stuck them back together using dielectric grease.Problem solved Hope that helps. Kelly

In addition to what Kelly said, you could also have an issue(s) with the Reverse Relay, Reverse Switch, or the Seat Switch.
