Default An update and a wish for a Merry Christmas!

Been working on my O. As you know I moved my O to my back porch to be able to work on it in this cold weather..

I took it apart, noticing what needed repair..

Then I bead blasted it to bare metal and painted the pieces.. lots of pieces!

Here are some of the bigger ones. Stored in my kitchen/dining room..

Started putting it back together (again in my dining room because it is warm and comfortable).

I am rebuilding my steering column, just waiting for the parts..

The engine will be last.. I already rebuilt the carb and starter/generator.

I might mount my new front tires today.. I got to be careful not to let the rebuild get too far as to not be able to get it out the door...

Merry Christmass!

John

PS.. I was at a friend's the other day for a visit and got talking about my yellow fever and mentioned I was looking for a Haban Sickle Bar Mower. He ups and says he has one behind his shed.. Sure enough there was one.. He is giving it to me. Said it came off of a Cub. I will get some pictures as soon as I go and pick it up.. Merry XMas to me!!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
