Snow blade shoes

The shoes I have on my snow blade are not really suited for plowing gravel. I found these (above link)online, I need a set to convert my blade over to this style for plowing a my driveway. I know extreme has plow shoes but they don't have the bracket and I don't have the time to make my own bracket so that option is out. Does anybody know of any better options?

I've found that if you make a ski it works much better for gravel. I made a set for one of my blades and it works great. I used a seat spring from a 127 and cut it in half at the bend then cut them down to 4 1/2" long and welded them to the original shoes. I set mine so the cutting edge is 3/4" above the ground. It does'nt wear the cutting edge or pick up stones and the ski's glide really well.

Yes that sounds like it would work great when going straight good idea! I also need something that doesn't cut in when turning its inconvenient to have to try to lift the blade juuuust a little. If I could find some concave disk I would just weld them to these shoes

The ones you posted a link to are the same style that the IH blades use. They don't work any better in gravel than what you have. A "ski" is the best option. What do you mean it's "inconvenient" to lift the blade to turn?

I think he wants ski's because with nothing but the blade edge when you turn tight on gravel the corner of the blade digs in a little and you end up pushing dirty snow. my 71 leans a little and when I turn left the right corner of the blade digs in, so I have my lift bar set where I can pull it up 1 notch and it make the blade ride about 1/2" or so above a true flat surface. I think this is what he is trying to avoid, the lifting going into a corner. I just move the gravel back in the spring.
