Wondering what you folks have done about getting enough light behind you to plow in the night. Seems like it always snows at night and I gotta get to work early.
The old Cubs have the seats high so hiding one under there is nice. For the later cubs (782) Putting lights on the rear fenders I fear they are too exposed and will get damaged over time. Mounting something on the frame by the rear axle, I wonder if my weights will block the light too much. I'm thinking about maybe a light pole that I will fixture to a custom hitch setup so it raises the lights over my head a bit and it will come off during other tractor duties. What are you guys doing.. if anything?

That was what I was thinking when I mentioned ' mount on frame by rear axle'
looks high enough to not be blocked by my winter weight setup

Hmmmmm....
Maybe one of those "super bright LED bars" on the rear apron just above IH logo between the tail lights? Some of those are very bright and draw less than 2 amps of current. |

I've seen them on sale.. I wonder if the illuminate enough. LEDs are odd, looking at them, they are blinding but they don't seem to illuminate. Good for being seen but not seeing. maybe they are improving

I'm not afraid to drill holes. I needed light. It's a work tractor not a collector.
![]() IMG_20130819_191233.jpgNightlight.jpg I just put a cab on it. Haven't gotten the lights back on the cab yet. |

Mine don't put any light in my face. As long as you aim them right.
![]() They have been on there 10 years, and never got damaged or hit. Or burnt out that I recall. ![]() |

This is where I mounted my work light.I don't have to worry about snow but I do find myself doing lots of things after dark and it certainly comes in handy.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
