E-Bay is clearly the reason our tractors and parts prices are rising. It's nice to want, but the sad truth is..... someone will probably pay it.

My local CL has gone nuts too. A few years back you could see several cubs for less than $300. Now there all $500 to $1000 for junkers. The guy I get my parts from has gone nuts too But, that's what happens when people start collecting things. I'm just glad that I got mine when I did.

I look at it this way: There's nothing wrong with seller setting a price so high that you and I are not even interested in the deal. There's gotta be something wrong with the buyer who commit to pay far beyond market value. Caveat Emptor

My favorite is the $1700 electric lift. Makes me want to "ask the seller a question"..... a question like "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND!?!?!"

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
