Default Which snowblower for my 1440?

Hey guys! New to the site. I've searched high and low but I haven't found the exact answer I'm looking for. I'm looking for a snowblower for my 1440 cub. I've read a 451 will fit my 1440 but is this the blower I should use? Is 14hp's enough to power the 451? Thanks for your time, Brad

Welcome to OCC Brad!
A 451 or a 551 snowblower will work with your 1440.
Yes, the 14hp will run the blower. My FIL has had one mounted for 20 years with no problem.

Bummer. Thanks though mac. I wish the one you posted wasn't from New York. I'm from Michigan and that's a haul!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
