I can't help with the answer, although I'd imagine it's a no, but what do you do so much in reverse that you want to go faster?

Pushing snow, I have a lot of long passes. just gets to be a pain doing 3 point turns on both ends. I have a really wide drive and where I need to pile the snow is at one end. makes for 14 to 20 passes about 100 foot long. so backing up gets annoying.

Turn around and wind-row it over one pass so you aren't wasting time. Or buy a blower.

Hydro with a cab and blower is the only way to go doing snow removal. Gear drives are just a real pain in the butt. Waste to much time shifting.

As true as that is, I can't completely agree I did the first half of this years snow removal on a gear drive Cub Cadet and something about shifting gears makes it...fun!! But for practicality purposes, yes, a hydro is the way to go (especially if you have a lot to clean up).

Yup, this is exactly why I can't live without my hydro or gear drive Cubs.

I understand that not everyone can own multiple Cubs, but if you have a hydro you probably really need a gear drive too... and vice-versa.

As much of a pain as it is, sometimes when I push snow, I do get off at the end of each row and turn the blade the other way.

I also kinda think that in many situations, when pushing snow, you gotta dig a hole at each end first so you have a place to turn around, it's just part of the deal.

Don't be fooled! Slamming a hydro from forward to reverse and back again is about the most fun you can have (with all your winter clothes on).

And if you do it right...... it doesn't take much room to turn them around.

well if you turn around and wind row going both directions, then you have to get off and switch the blade angle. Not going to happen 28 times. And I use the gear shift tractor because it is fun. If I was worried about being quick about it I would just get in the truck and use the snow plow on that. I do it with the old 71 and the blade because it is a lot of fun. nothing more. and I have not got enough snow to justify the blower on it yet. and again if I get that much I use the truck plow. I like the snow and the tractor. nothing like 6am dark and plowing as the sun comes up. I like killing snow almost as much as killing grass. Nothing like man and machine off to kick mother natures butt.

so no on the faster reverse Gear?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
