82 series track tractor
I think it would be cool to take an 82 series and move the front axle back some and put another front axle on it and put a track on it. I was wondering if anybody has planned on making one or has made one

It sure would look cool but I wouldn't want to figure out how to make it steer.

i have saw people put disc brakes on and run individual brake peddles or lever and the pull on the brake for the side they want to go. you would have to have a axle carrier that wasnt locked.

There was a kit made by a company( can't remember) that was built to convert an early cub to tracks. It was on IH registry web site.

If money was no object, and I had the time, I'd build a rubber tracked 982 with separate hydraulic motors, i.e. skid loader. There's a greene one on YouTube. I'd use a Kubota D722, vane pump, and custom 2 speed gear boxes. Then I'd have to build a mini articulating Quadtrac. I'll be busy when I win the lottery!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
