Default Magnetic Drain Plugs
I am hoping to make a few minor adjustments / upgrades for my 782. One of those, due to the age of the machine, is I would like to get a magnetic drain plug for both the engine as well as the transmission. Some may consider this overkill, but when you don't have the money to replace it or have a large repair bill of some sort, I consider this the same as preventative maintenance.

I know this topic has been discussed somewhere in this forum, but for the life of me, I cannot locate it. And to think I thought I even saved those threads and still can't find them...ugh.

With that being said, if anyone would be willing to help me with the size of both and a purchase location, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Every time I build a hydraulic machine (woodsplitter etc,,,, ) I add a large magnet to the inside of the hydraulic tank.

Cheap insurance!

You can take the old drain plug with you to a real auto parts store and they will fix you up with a magnetic drain plug. Most of the better counterpersons will know the thread when they see it. If not, they have thread size checkers. You will be in and out in under 10 minutes.

Yea but you have to tell the counterperson all the vehicle info and if it has red or yellow turn signals to figure out the drain plug.

Just about the only thing that fails in the engine is a rod. It's aluminum.......

That's why I said go to a REAL parts store.
