Default 2072 brought home

We had the chance to pick up a 2072 here close to home.

This was for sale about 30 miles away from us.

The story behind it was that the fella that owned it had passed away some 20 years ago. The family couldn't part with it and put it away for all this time till now.

The tractor only has 455 original hours on it. It came with a nice 50"'deck that was original to the tractor too. It does need a little TLC on a few items, but it is well worth the effort. This is our first low hour "barn find". I seen other people run across ones like this, but it is pretty neat when you find one of your own.

When I called the guy to inquire about the tractor, he said he had guys wanting to come over the weekend from Maryland and Ohio to see the tractor. We used home field to our advantage and were the first ones there with cash in hand and got the deal done. This tractor will be staying at home here in Pennsylvania.

Here are a few picks of it coming home on the back of my truck.

455 hours? Heck you don't even get to turn wrenches on it for a while other than to change fluids! You'll love the way it handles!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
