3225 Diff Lock?

Hey fellas just got a new to me 3225 today for a very nice price $900. Tractor only has 400hrs on it and is in very nice shape. But do have a question about the diff lock ( I know everyone says not to use cause it can crack your housing if the pin doesn't line up) but I like for all the stuff to work on my tractors an I'm not sure this does. I stuck my head underneath the tractor while pushing down on the pedal to engage the diff lock and the wire cable doesn't move any at all it looks. An I stuck my hand back to the lever were it mounts on the trans axel an cant feel the lever on the trans axel moving at all while the you push the pedal down . is this normal?... Or is there something wrong with it or does the cable need to be replaced? Anyone with this setup ever look at it? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks guys!
