Default Dreaming is free... right?

Found this on craigs list. Says it needs carb and hydraulic work. 500 obo, its two hrs from home. My wife would devorce me if I went thru with it, but wouldn't it be kinda neat to have an 1872 with a haban deck and a brand new CH680 23 hp engine? A guy would have 2000.00 into a decent older super with a new engine...

Just dreaming

I saw that, too; there's been a rash of older style Super's coming up lately around here it seems. There was that one, as well as a 2072 with 60" Haban single owner machine for $700. Makes me wish I had extra cash and no wedding to save for!

Do what I do and just buy it then stash it outback with the rest without her seeing it, a few months later when she finally notices it just say its been there for a few months now, remember me talking about it with you? And when she says no its the perfect opportunity to say something like " you never listen when I talk "

LMFAO!!

You guys and you "my wife would be mad".
You make money right? Buy it if you want it. She has no reason/right to be mad unless you buy it instead of food or paying the electric. I make money, and I spend it how I want. No questions asked. When she rolls her eyes, or says "Ugh, another one?". I just smile and say "Yep..... You know why? Because I wanted it."

I saw that ad and wrote the guy. It's not too far away. Never heard back but i asked if he would sell the tractor only, I already have that deck. So he either wasn't interested in splitting or sold it already.

Oh well 3 supers is enough for me plus the garage is full.

I love your stance on the subject of relationship money! I'm mostly the same way on my end, mostly It got to the point where we had to sit down and come up with a mutual agreement on how many machines was feasible for me to have. Now, for the keen eyed out there, notice I said "machines", not attachments! Anywho, I'm fine with my set number of "3" right now for a couple reasons; 1) she said if we get a bigger place with a barn, I could have all I wanted! 2) With the time and money I have available to the hobby right now with a wedding coming up, 3 is more than enough (but I'll never tell her that ). 3) I have 4 in the garage right now (2 are mine, 1 is my dad's I still need to work on, and 1 is "mine", but it's destined to be fixed and flipped). But when it comes down to it, if I see something I want, and I have the cash in my pocket/account after bills, savings, etc., guess what; I'm going to get it! I don't tell her what to do with her money, why the he11 should she tell me what to do with mine?

Wives basic philosophy on money...

"What's mine is mine, AND what's yours is MINE, TOO!!!"

My reply is always "there's a lot worse things I could be doing!" Works every time (so far).

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
