A good choice for CB
I am getting my truck ready for the winter hunting and trail riding season . I would like to find a good CB . Dose anyone have any advise for me ? I would like to use a fire stick for an antenna .

Amazon has several $35-$45. most units are limited to 4 watts power output.
A good antenna tuned is the best. It also means your buddy you communicate with does the same. An SWR meter is a good investment also. Here is a modern twist.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-COBRA-19...item5d4caa3b84 On a side note, I like your ZR2. Those are sweet trucks, and you don't see a lot of them. I have a couple 4X4 blazers with 31X10.50 tires. One of them is lifted a couple inches, but still not as big as a ZR2. Here's a bad pic. You can tell the blue one is a couple inches taller.

When it comes to CB's Cobra is the best. You can get those with built in SWR tuning. Fire Stick antenna's are cheap. No way to externally calibrate SWR. You would be better off with a K40. Magnetic mount, or you can get them permanent. With the Fire Stick mounted to your mirrors, you won't get more than maybe a .5 mile or a little more with your range. K40 with a Cobra properly tunes, should push you closer to 2 miles, maybe 3. Without any booster it won't reach far. I don't know how far you are wanting to talk, but CB's are really antiquated. Good for short range, unless you spend some $$$ on boosters.

To keep it cheap get ya a cobra with something along the lines of a k40 or if ya can find a used one cheap yhe trucker 2000 isnt a battery antenna I've even had good luck with the radio shack 100+ inch whips I wouldn't bother with a foot Warmer unless you really wanna get Serious but for good check reliable cbs idgo with a cobra for sure. CClassic 40s never seem to fail me. Right now im running a robyn ssb with a 102" radio shack whip and have absolutly no problems on upper lower or standard channels

Thanks For the replys . I have been looking at the cobra 25 nightwhatch , because of the size . I was going to use the fire stick for eas of mounting , i'll check on the K40 . Bolivier I also have a 1995 z . It has 267000 miles on it . It has had 33" tires on it for the last four years . Couldn't sale it everyone said it had to miny miles on it got, offerd 500.00 on trade , so just desided to drive it to work till it dies that was four years ago.
