This past summer I damaged two of the cylinders on my old compressor using my sandblaster. It would keep up but it ran constantly to do so, got too hot and burned head gaskets and damaged reed valves was the result. The cost to rebuild/repair it made it not worth it. I've learned a ton about compressors and manufacturers since burning my old one up. I only wanted to go through this one more time so I made sure this time it will produce enough air to supply my sandblaster. The cost for the new electrical service almost made me sick but now that I'm past that, I'm feeling better about it. Its a FSCURTIS CT series,7.5hp, 2 stage, 80 gallon compressor. It says 29cfm at 90psi so that should get the job done for me. Still trying to get everything hooked up (electrical, new fittings and such) but I'm getting there.

We had one the same size and output at work and it would run the blaster nice but it still ran constantly, we now have a big ir screw compressor and its awesome with plenty of air to spare.

I looked at screw compressors but this one did enough damage to the bank account on its own. Hopefully this will be all I need. One thing is for sure though, if its not, I wont be sandblasting anymore. Still have a lot to do before I can put it to the test though.

Naw, single phase, but it would have been 3 phase if I had that type of service to my home.Alot less wear or easier on the motor that way.

The electrical run was 87ft total in length, went with 4-4-4-6 for wires, two new ground rods, a new subpanel at the meter and a new subpanel at the compressor. The orginal wires feeding the shop 6-6-6-6 just werent able to safely handle the load. The welder I have was pushing the limits of the #6 wires so with that in mind and the compressor just ran a new circuit to be safe.

Nice job, that will definately get it done. Are you going to RedHead it to the floor? What welder do you have? Sounds bigger, 255?

Yea, anchor bolts and isolation pads for sure, 1969 lincoln arc welder handles the welding duties. That old welder will walk circles around the new arc welders of today. After I get this compressor behind me a mig welder and a nice set of torches will be the next addition.I have a small torch set up but it has seen its better days.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
