IH rake
So, I've found a person who is selling an IH rake. My ? lies in what it is worth. It is not in a restored condition but does appear to be in usable condition. He is asking 500$ and of course he says it is ultra rare.. Is this a fair price?? Is he outta his gourd?? I just don't have enough information on this to even make an uneducated guess.
Is it even ultra rare as he states? Does anyone have any information that would lead to a suspected number of these which were produced? Basic information is what I'm after here. I wouldn't mind having one in the collection I am beginning for the 100 I have but I sure don't want to pay restored condition prices when it's in need of that. thanks, Joe

I don't know about current prices, but at the Portland Small Engine Show I usually see 2 or 3 of them for about $200-$250 each. He seems high. Nothing is as rare as it used to be with the use of computers these days.

They may be ultra rare in Woodhull Il and I've never seen one around these parts.
I'm thinking they are rare in most other areas too but not ultra rare. They come up for sale pretty regular in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin and other areas. I would think you should be able to get one along with the blade for $500.00 it kinda depends on how far you are willing to drive. If I wanted one... I wouldn't pay over $350.00 for it, but I'm a cheapskate and I really don't need one (it would be cool to have though). They will only get more expensive as time goes on. Good luck in your decision.

You're looking at because you can afford it.
If you want it and can comfortably afford it...buy it! It's just money, they don't make IH stuff anymore.

Too much, not worth more than 250-300. And to note, it's over 30 years old, don't plan on actually using it and having it be reliable. Within the first 4 hours of use, I think I lost about 8 tines. I had to source new tines, bend and modify them to work. I saved all of the remaining old ones....if anybody is interested in buying them.

I'm assuming its the one you saw on CR Craigslist? That's not too far from me. I was tempted to call and ask why it was worth that much, but to each their own. I say it isn't worth that much because its rough, but then again...I don't know...
