Default Piston rings
I have my 1211 engine apart to put new rings in it. How can you tell if it has the old or new style piston? The number on the piston is 4705801. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have no idea what you are referring to. The ring part numbers are all the same.

As unpolite as this may sound, re-ringing an engine is a waste of time and money. You should bore it and rebuild.

Looking for rings I came to sites that indicate there was a old style and new style piston.

old style- 48-108-01s
new style- 47-108-01-s

They said the rings are not interchangeable.

Only style that is available is 47-108-01-S. Others are discontinued.
