Default The new guy from Ontario, NY

Hello everyone, very nice site you have here. I've been a cub guy my whole life. I got a 149, 108 and an O. I'm looking forward to some conversations with some new found cub brothers.

I found the 1200 and 1250 I had posted about recently. They have a decent 1711 they want to get rid of bad but that's not me ($200 for that and a ford twin 16 which is pretty rough)

Thanks to all for the warm welcome, Gophred, good luck with the 1200 and 1250, nice thing about the older units is that they are so easy to bring back to life, todays "throw out ' equipment is just that, an old cub is almost always worth the work. My 149 just started burning oil this year, rebuilt 20 years ago, she's ready, going to pull the engine as soon as the weather breaks, she's sleeping in the shed anyway.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
