Default Brinly 3-point rear blade

I just got what I believe is a Brinly 3-point rear blade from a neighbor. I don't know too much about it but it seems like a well built unit. It needs a paint job but it seems to be in good condition otherwise. I guess I need a special size upper link because a standard cat 0 does not fit on the 2182 3-point. Here are some pics.

That blade is pretty slick. I like how it has two cutting edges and you just flip it over to make it a pusher! Someone had their thinking cap on.

Someone made your top link bracket. That's why it doesn't fit. Give Aaron at xtreme a call. You can get the right on from him.

Nice score on the blade!!!

the factory toplink was not as wide as the ones you can buy now. I have 4 cat o super 3pts they all have that same narrow top link attachment bracket welded on.

Yup, cub decided it was a good idea to have a toplink with two different end sizes for the supers.

You can also try Ruegg MFG. They make a copy of the 3 point for the Supers. He has one on Flea Bay that you can take a look at.

Maybe you can just buy the small end to fit your existing top link. I'd also try TSC.

This is a pic of the top link that I got with my 2182.

I'd just get the top link with the 3 holes for the GT's from xtreme and weld it on. Then you have 3 choices for 3rd link position.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The original setup is just way too small. What were they thinking? I need to order a few other things from Xtreme anyways. I'm wanting to clean up the blade and paint it. I have seen them a few different colors. Does anyone know the correct original colors were?

Here is my temperary fix until I can order the upper mount from Xtreme. I made this link with some parts I had laying around. I will be testing it out in about an hour on some new fallen snow we have outside.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
