1st. Things first.
My drive way is as flat as you can get! In my opinion; chains are a bit better. I had to anticipate & think ahead to do my plowing of 2" of snow. I did start spinning a few times at first. Thinking ahead I had to change my tactics being used to chains. So, all in all if you've got a flat drive They are OK., but I think with a sloping drive one can run into problems ??? Also my driveway did not get scraped up. There-ya go. NIK,

Ok, we had about 3/4" of powdery white stuff fall during the night. Went out there to clear my F L A T drive & a true test .
As I wrote before; chains worked better. How can one get stuck on a FLAT drive? Easy. Go to back up & rear tires were spinning on 5 occasions. A bit of snow fell onto the front of the front tire in backing up & that was enough to start the rear tires a'spinning. Had to get off, clear the obstruction, pull the tractor a few i inches, rock it back & forth to get traction again. I'd hate to think of the problems with any kind of incline. End result, I wish I would have saved the money. ![]() ![]() Gonna order some chains. ![]() Nik, With the bit of scrapping my asphalt drive takes with chains, I'll live with it.

That's why they're called terra-grip and not nix-grip.

I kind of wondered how they would work on a smooth driveway. I bet they would work much better on a gravel driveway or dirt.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
