9 bids at $1,004.99?! Wow, wonder if any of my stuff is worth that. It'd be cool to have, yes for sure, but not for that cash. Why not just buy a couple Cubs?!

I agree with that. But, remember IH made more than cubs, and lots of collectors are really into that kind of memorabilia.

I believe the seller in that it is a true NOS sign. Problem with stuff like this is it is to easy to make and look original. I mean, really... there is a guy in even my small town who makes signs like this. I know he would make them if he knew he could sell them.

I bet it brings at least $2500. 9 days left and it's already over $1K.

For that kind of money you could buy a Cub and hang it from a sign-post.

The plastic in that sign has aged just sitting on the shelf. I wonder how fragile it is?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
