Default Restored Ford 640

Here's some pics of a tractor we just finished up today, its a Ford 640 with the extremely rare Elenco 4wd system. For those that don't know my family owns a collision shop and we also restore vintage Ford tractor, I do all the paint and body work and my dad does all the mechanical work, despite a few disagreements from time to time we make a pretty good team.

Nice work, Tim!!

I think those are the best looking Ford tractors ever made. The 4WD makes that one extra cool!!

Beautiful job there mister! Power steering and 4WD to boot, you really have a nice piece there. Now I'm embarrassed to even admit I own a 640, I have to get to work!

Nice looking red belly! I should send Dad's 961 your way for a refresh. It would look sharp all painted up.

Wow that looks awsome, first I've seen the 4x4. Great work, and you get to do it with your father, everybody wins.

Tim:

Great job. I never seen nor knew that there was a 4WD option on those Fords.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
