Default ?s about adding additional lights on 1872

Hey, I've got an 1872 with a 551 blower if anyone has used these they know the chute blocks alot of the lights from the front. I've searched and haven't found too much stuff. I'd like to mount up some additional lights. Where is the best spot? on the blower? on the drift cutters? on the front of the tractors somewhere? I have a rough gravel drive so the blower does bounce around quite a bit I'm a little worried about vibrations. I would like to mount up 3 of these, 2 in front one in back. Probably on a separate switch.

Any better lights out there?

Can the tractor's electrical handle this, with the other stuff running? front lights, electrical pto?

Appreciate any info or input

Thanks,

Pete

Wherever you want. I'd suggest not on the blower. The bouncing lights will make you sick.... lol.

See above. The vibration won't hurt the lights... just your eyes.

Even with LED's a separate switch is a must.

Just an idea but you might want to consider attaching a magnetic base to those and then move them around to see where you get the best light. Since the blower will come off you might end up not needing them later.

On my 1862 I mounted mine on the drift cutters (see pic). I think I got them at Walmart. They are truck flood lights. They've been on for about 3 or 4 years without any issue. However, I do unplug my stock lights when I use these as the "Alt" light flashes on with them plugged in.

If you get 4 and your tractor can handle them, having a set on the rear would be great for backing.

Does look bright. Where did you decide to place them and did you use all four?

That is looking real good. I am thinking of doing something like that on my 2084. I am concerned though because I only replaced one rear light and when I run it with my 451 blower and the lights turned on, my voltage panel light comes on.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
