The height indicator on the 1641 is a plastic "arrow" only. Zerk fitting in the center of the shaft.
Thinking of putting an indicator that is also a lift for a snow blade. Does the plastic just pop off? Carefully of course. And the new steel piece has two bolts and a square hole on the frame side. That's it?

Thanks for the confirmation Sam Mac!
Looking at a blade for snow duty. Hey, gotta do something during retirement. Grandsons are going to beat me up if I don't work on "their tractors."

On occasion I do work. Last job, three months, driving a tractor trailer. Flat bed, big pipe.
Never drove one with automatic, power steering, tilt steering wheel, power mirrors, lots of goodies. Was a White. I like the Mack R models, 5-speed Maxidyne. ![]() The injured employee came off comp. I went back to my barn and the chores the grandsons give me.

Looks easy enough to make one. Thanks BassBlaster!
Received the arrow pointer (cast iron) lift and indicator today. Saved the plastic part just in case someone needs one (plastic on left for show 'n tell). Was a brutal job installing the much needed part! This weekend the boys 'n I are picking up the 54" plow assembly!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
