Default Snow cab

Just found a great deal a Curtis snow cab! A hard roof and front with windshield and wiper. Sides and rear are canvas (Yellow) with new clear plastic windows. Door are zipper doors. This was on a John Deere Model 318. I plan to strip it down and repaint the top and front. Top I H white Front I H yellow. Wiper works and has a built in switch. Going to add 2 Lights on roof and a yellow flashing light on top for safety. Going to have to have redesigned the way it attaches to the front hood. Right now it just sits on the hood on 2 inch block of rubber and a strap goes down and around and then tightens up. cann't decide if i want it on either my CC 100 (Has creeper gear) or CC122(has hydrolic lift). I like the way the rear supports are made they are hinge in the middle so that you can lift the cab up to raise the hood up off the hood

Thanks, what was really great about this is that I got it less than a mile from my house! Usually I have to travel 4 hours to PA to get anything. Got my CC 100 and CC 122 in Scraton PA , There isn't to much in CC stuff here in Northern NY. If you find something they think it's made of gold and Ask Super high prices for it. I have all the material to sandblast and paint but Haven't done it yet. I'll learn by trial and error I guess. Is there anyone around Watertown NY that can Give some pointers and help? I wanted to buy a cutter and welder this year but couldn't do it. I have a daugther graduating high school and going to college so there goes any spare cash.

Any way to use magnets to help hold the cab to the fenders?

In a situation where I feel I need to drill holes/cut with saw or torch... I normally buy another one of what I want to "modify", write the model number of the tractor on the original parts or on a tag attached to them and store them in the attic. Then modify the newly purchased parts and bolt them on. But that's just me, I'm a little goofy.

You should be able to pick up a pair of respectable used fenders for a little of nothing.

I've learned that theres almost always a way around drilling holes. Maybe some brackets that clamp around the axle tubes, or use the existing fender mount bolts to attach a fabricated bracket. Some brainstorming, a little mocking up, maybe make up some templates...you get the idea.

Yes, thats right! Don't go drilling holes in the fenders because you know how to use a drill and a drill bit! Otherwise you will end up having holes in the fender later on that you will be going .... What the heck did I do that for!?? I have that thanks to a PO and his cup holder on the fend of the 982 I bought. Kinda sucks....fixable, but sucks!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
