Thumbs up Near mint 1711

My grandpa and I stumbled upon this 1711 on Craigslist for $850. I called them up and asked if they'd take any lower and before I could make a offer they said they'd take $700 I was holding myself back from sounding too excited lol. The people selling it were a very nice elderly couple that bought it new. They took very good care of it, they even said they washed and waxed it every once in a while.(I'll have to keep it up Lol). They were originally asked $2500 for it so needless to say I think we got a pretty good deal on it. It has 1900 hours and still running strong. No smoke except for a puff when you first start it cold. Came with baby moon hub caps and a brand new cub cadet branded seat. Mower deck runs smoothly and my grandpa and I can't wait to mow with it. This my our first opposed twin engine and we are looking forward to learning more about them.

Nice tractor, I really like the 82-1700-1800 machines. Don't see many come around in that nice of shape. Good score!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
