Default Poly rollers
I want to buy a lawn roller and it seems pretty hard to find a metal one locally, all I keep finding are the plastic ones. To me it seems like the poly roller wouldn't work as well as steel because they seem to have a lot of give to them. Just looking for opinions on which is better, thanks.

I agree with you. I wouldn't buy a poly either. I don't know what you have locally to you.... but all the farm stores here carry the steel ones and Sears can get them if they don't stock them. May be better off ordering online. Northern Tool has them. My bro in DC was having the same issue. He couldn't find one either. Ended up finding out he had a Northern Tool store not too far from him.

Make your own roller !!! This thing WILL mash about anything !!

The metal tank is an old propane tank. It is probably around four to five feet tall. Fill the 55 gallon barrel and it makes the little O grunt !!

Another thing to consider is storage. I have seen the steel roller that are about as old as dirt that have been stored outside their entire life, but something tells me that the poly rollers would not last that long outdoors, especially if filled with water (not that you would fill it with that but some do).
Like cubs, I like the pre-fiberglass dash cubs as the steel just seems to last longer.
