Default Carter #26 bowl gasket part number

I have either a Kohler or Carter #26 carb and I need the bowl gasket part number. It's the gasket that fits in the groove around the carb body, not the flat odd shaped one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

In a pinch, i've stripped the insulation off a piece of # 12 or 14 electric wire and used that. Mike

I've have in a pinch used a larger diameter o-ring and cut it to length to fit the groove.

"In a pinch" I've used silicone and duct tape. What's you guy's point? PO asked for a part number for a gasket, not ways to get around replacing it.

Screwing around just trying to purchase that gasket by itself will probably cost near as much as a carb kit that would include it.

Seems to me like a great time to do a quick rebuild and maybe improve performance in the long run.

Call it normal maintenance.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
