I'll keep it short and sweet; doing some landscaping and have this plant growing where I want to put some mulch. If it's going to be a nice plant, I'll leave it. But otherwise, it'll go bye bye. So, what is this?

Debbie, AKA wife the master of all things plants says those are Peonies. She says if you dig them up she will have to kill you.

Wait til after they bloom. Fall, maybe? Mom's gone, can't ask her. But they should bloom soon, IIRC.

We had some when I was a kid. They are pretty neat plants. Here is what they will look like.

OK Ryan
I'm just passing along info from the Master of all things Plants. AKA the Wife, she says OK to transplant on 4/24 & 4/25 according to her Ramon's calendar. Don't ask me cause I don't get it but if she says it's so I don't argue. And no guys I'm not getting into this one. I'll stick to engines.

They will bloom soon and they do attract ants just as a FYI.
smell nice too. When you transplant, split them so you will have more plants. Now on how to split them, google it, but I have just used a shovel, as google didn't happen then. Mine were here when I bought the place in 1976, they are hardy and various colors, will be interesting to see what blooms.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
