I've been trying to read and learn how to do this. Are the points supposed to close all the way and touch together. And when they are open they should be .020. Is that correct?

Also how do I adjust them farther apart? At the moment they only open to .015.

To adjust, just loosen the screw a little that secures the points to the block and then put the screwdriver in the provided slots on the points. Twist the screwdriver to open/close the gap. |

Ok, so I used the static timing method with a test light and it really helped running at WOT. I've got the RPM's up to 3250 from 2840 just with that. Now it will not run at lowest throttle setting. It runs good wot, but when lowering throttle it gets rough, and will die if I go below 1/4 of the way up. Any suggestions?

Tune the carb, adjust the throttle linkage..... reset the governor while your at it.
